RIP Nabila (Show Compassion)

“Compassion will cure us more than condemnation will”
Do you know what a community means?
Its a group of people living together in one place, especially one practicing common ownership.
Don’t you think schools are communities?
From January to May, during summer school and from August to December
We, AUN, we are a community.
We share something in common
And that is simply being a student of American University of Nigeria.
In a community, people celebrate and mourn together.
When it’s someone’s birthday, birthday wishes pour in.
Blackberry, bless that little device.
On my birthday, so many had me up as their display pictures.
So when a member of our community passes on
Would it kill us to show a little compassion?
You didn’t have to like her or be best friends with her
As long as you knew her
You’ve passed her in cafeteria,
Talked to her on the way to a class,
Hell, even rolled you eyes at her for something she did to you!
We knew her. And now she is gone.
That is all that matters.
Use this day to say a little prayer for her.
You don’t know what she was going through
You don’t necessarily know what circumstances surround her death
All we do know is a member of the AUN community left us today
The least you can do is wish her a peaceful rest.

P.S There is a prayer for her memory in Washington Hall by 7pm.
RIP Nabila. Gone too soon.
